I'm back here.
Ready as ever to face a very delicate issue but definitely felt in the modern era: the suffering.
In the book of the XIV Dalai Lama " The road to true " expertly translated and edited by Jeffrey Hopkins (ed. Oscar Mondadori, 2009), after the basic elements covered in the first part to go to practice real , the ethics, which dissect the four noble truths to the philosophy / religion Buddhist.
The modules described in this section are universal in the sense that any believer or non-believer can benefit from it, in order to answer the question, "why am I suffering?." As introduced in last week's post in this series of articles I want to meditate with you spiritual aspects related to the concept of suffering, pain, closely linked to the soul. This is because I
an excellent job of improving the look and personal growth within themselves and do not stop at the surface only analyzing their sorrows "material." Try the psycho-physical awareness that we often think for but which in reality is far from our true potential.
The key is to Buddhist ethics help other people, and if this is not possible, not cause them harm . The commitment to non-violence is important and today's lesson focuses on individual liberation, which is essential to refrain from violent acts of physical or verbal.
The first step is to abandon the 10 non-virtues (so called by the Buddhists), which are divided into three groups:
- individuals (murder, theft, adultery)
- Minutes (lies, slander, insults, gossip)
- mental (envy, wish to prejudice, misconceptions)
For example, when we begin a discussion with someone, if we both do we cry out to pre-submit our arguments, often generate an escalating verbal offensive as dictated by emotions. And worse, right?
To obtain a pure behavior, that allows us to avoid the ten non-virtues (and free of cyclic existence - the Samsara - according to Buddhist thought) we have to analyze and follow the four noble truths the order in which the Buddha has taught. They are:
- recognize the various forms of suffering
- discover the origins of suffering
- see if you can eliminate the causes of suffering
- choose the path of practice to stop the suffering
First Noble Truth: suffering
Suffering is a kind of disease that anyone contracted sooner or later in life. To find the cure we must first evaluate it in its various forms, which are:
- real pain (physical and mental as headache, abdominal pain, anxiety after a loss, etc.).
- the pleasure as pain relief (eg food or abused alcohol because we feel alone and sad)
- pain at a deep level, called "conditioning persuasive" (where mind and body are influenced by emotions that afflict us, such as hatred or greed)
You know the saying "those who are content has ? Here it is! Paused to reflect on this, as you can. In the next few lessons into the details.
To win you have to understand what suffering is yours, repeating like a mantra that any problems can be overcome and worry (= deal before) often leads to failure.
So avoid despair, think positive, work with perseverance on your soul and your path will begin to glow!
